1st Customer Review : Easy to use and not expensive
When we started using our new pool and spa I was using a test kit that required adding various drops into water samples. That worked fine for me. Then I noticed the guy who was doing the initial pool service for the first 4-6 weeks of pool operation used only this type of test strip so I thought I'd give them a try. They are much easier to use, just a quick dip in the water and then 15 or so seconds to compare the results to the chart on the bottle. I've had consistent results with the pool and spa (separate) and the water has been fine, easy to maintain. I've been told it's a good idea to ocassionally take a sample of water to a local pool supply company for more thorough testing, but for 95% of the time these strips do the job and I recommend them.

2nd Customer Review : Good Only For Ease Of Use, Has Questionable Accuracy
I purchased these in Summer, 2012 based on high ratings by Amazon users. I found them not very accurate. They get you in the general ball park, but I find that I am now purchasing more professional liquid chemical kits to get more accurate readings.

I have owned a pool for 3.5 years and I find that I use the paper strips in a hurry. But for more accurate results or if I am having an issue with my pool chemistry, I have to take a water sample to my local pool store. Waiting in line at the pool supply store is annoying and I am now putting up more cash to get more accurate test kits.

On these strips, I think the Total Chlorine and Free Chlorine are pretty accurate. But I think those work well on most paper test strips.

I had problems with the Stabilizer/Cyanuric Acid test accuracy. It looked good on the test strip, but when I cross referenced with an expensive professional quality liquid test kit, I found that my Stabilizer was actually low. Which...
3rd Customer Review : Quick Accurate-ish Check
I keep these strips on hand for quick checks to see if any of my recent chemistry modifications have had the intended effect. As others have noted, local pool service crews typically keep these on hand -- ours only uses the Aquacheck. I originally purchased my strips through the local pool supply store, but with the local cost of $35, I'm very happy to find them offered here at half the cost. I'd love to continue supporting the mom&pop joints, but not at double the cost.

I usually test my water twice weekly with the Taylor 2006 kit for precision, and at least once daily with the Aquacheck strips -- when results are compared, the Aquacheck has usually been pretty spot-on; there have been occasional differences for pH and total chlorine, but not bad enough to discontinue their use (example: pH 7.6 on Taylor, 7.4 on test strip). It's much easier (and affordable) testing total alkalinity and CYA with the strips, that's for sure.

Tips: store in a cool dry place...
