It keeps the hot tub clean of all the stuff that gets in from bodies soaking in hot water. That's it function.

I bought this to replace the filter on our Leisure Bay Niagra Grande 8-person spa w/waterfall about 3 months ago. I waited to write this review to get some hours on it to see how it did. Our spa is now 10 years old (still in excellent condition), and it has 2x 5HP pumps to punish it's filters! I figured it was time to start looking for lower cost sources to purchase filters and supplies, and at about 60% less than what our local money pit dealer (pool/spa store) gets for a replacement, I'm very happy with it. It's performing well; it's held up to it's first soaking and cleaning, and is not shown any signs of degradation. The pleats have all remained welded to the top and bottom plates as expected.
The only reason I knocked 1 star off was for the slightly imprecise size of the filter compared to my factory replacements. This filter is perfectly 1.5mm shorter than stock, and 1mm narrower in diameter (which I thought were made by Pleatco also - maybe not?). The only...
